Coronavirus – COVID-19
Coastal Learning Center - Monmouth has been staying well informed about the COVID-19 virus that is
impacting our day to day lives. We want to assure the districts, parents, staff, and students, that we are
doing everything to keep the school disinfected every day including extra cleaning efforts by our staff
and cleaning crew. Our school has always been cleaned throughout each school year to combat other
illnesses such as the flu, and we are increasing our efforts even more due to the COVID-19 virus.
Preventative measures and preparation on our part include:
Increased cleaning in the classrooms and school
Additional hand-sanitizer has been placed in the classrooms
Additional cleaning supplies have been provided to the teachers in each classroom
Students and staff are directed to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water prior to
eating and after each restroom use
Additionally, we have sent home a technology readiness assessment for parents to fill out to check for
technological capabilities in student homes. We are preparing for instruction on both levels for students
in regard to digital instruction and paper-based, modeling ourselves after sending school districts. We
understand that not all students have the technological needs to support digital learning and we are
prepared for printed packet-based work as well.

Coastal Learning Center is following the recommendation of the New Jersey Department of Health and
the New Jersey Department of Education to provide an updated plan in which the Department of Health
directs a health related school closure. We are asking all families to complete the following survey
regarding their access to technology at home.
