Colors

• Every color has a significance. When choosing a color for your Coat of Arms think what meaning you want to convey.

• Remember the message and trait/value you chose to convey. Choose the color to best represent your message to your audience.

Color

• Only use 1 color as your main focus throughout your Coat of Arms.

• Choose another color to help support your primary character trait or meaning. This second color can be changed throughout your sections of your “Arms”

• Remember each color represents a meaning, you must choose the colors and be able to justify or defend your choices!

Yellow or Gold

•Generosity

White or Silver

•Peace or Sincerity

Black

•Constancy, unswerving, determined.

Blue

•Loyalty & Truthfulness

Red

•Noble & Forgiving or Strength

Green

•Hope & Joy

Purple

•Independent & Just

Lines

• Just like colors lines are also used to represent meaning and have an important significance. Make sure to match your lines with your color.

• Remember your lines have to also convey the same message throughout your section of the “Arms”.

• Your Character trait or value have to be consistent with both the line and color you have chosen.

Line

• Only use 1 type of line as your main focus throughout your Coat of Arms.

• Choose another line to help support your primary character trait/value/meaning. This second line could be changed throughout your sections of your “Arms”.

• Remember each line represents a meaning, you must be able to justify or defend your choices!

• Your lines and colors must compliment each other. Make sure to use color and line together. For example, draw two lines, and use your primary color to shade in the space.
