Measures non-magneticcoatings such as paint, enamel, plating, hot-dipgalvanizing on steel.

Ideal for measuring on small, hot or hard-to-reach surfaces.

Measures Coating Thickness

Measures non-magnetic coatings such as paint, enamel, plating, hot-dip galvanizing on steel.

PosiPen can be placed with pin-point accuracy on any location of the part to be measuredwhich other Gages are not able to reach. PosiPen measures:

■ on hot surfaces■ on small surfaces■ in different positions

PosiPen has a very small, unique magnet and therefore can measure on extremely small parts,on peaks and valleys.

Each PosiPen has two scales, mils (inch) and microns (metric)

Range: 0.25 to 20 mils (inch) Tolerance ±10% and 0.1 mil5 to 500 microns (metric) Tolerance ±10% and 2.5 microns

Each PosiPen is calibrated to NIST calibration standards.

PosiPen is manufactured in two versions:PosiPen Model A for measurements on surfaces with normal temperatures.PosiPen Model B for measurements on surfaces with extreme temperatures.

(between –150°F and +450°F • between –100°C and +230°C)

Triple Indicator:1. Use the red/silver joining line when the Gage is horizontal (walls).2. Use the green line when the Gage is pointing straight down (green/ground).3. Use the blue line when the Gage is pointing straight up (blue/sky).

Easy to Use:Place the tip of the PosiPen on the coated surface and allow the magnet to contact. Pull thePosiPen straight from the object to be measured while keeping close watch on the appropriateindicator. Note the reading when the magnet releases.

Easy to Carry:Just like a ball point pen, it is always there when you need it!

Self-Alignment FeatureUnequal pulling force during testing causedby uneven adhesive bond lines and coatingsurfaces can result in random, unexplainablereadings. To obtain more repeatable andmeaningful adhesion measurements, it isimperative that the pulling force applied tothe test dolly is uniformly distributed over thesurface being tested.

The Self-Aligning Dolly enables uniform distri-bution of the pulling force over the surfacebeing tested, preventing a one-sided pull-off.

DeFelsko® Certified Thickness StandardsCertified thickness standards are ideal for checking calibration and operation of coatingthickness gages and are an important component in fulfilling both ISO and in-housequality control requirements. All standards described below are supplied with a certificateof calibration showing traceability to NIST/NPL.

Calibration Standards■ Ideal for use in the calibration lab

■ Used to verify the accuracy of a magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic coating thickness gageover its complete thickness measuring range

■ Standards with steel or aluminum substratesconsist of four (4) standards mounted in a durableleatherette binder

■ Plastic thickness standards consistof four (4) polystyrene standards suppliedin a rugged acrylic storage box

Ideal for use with magnetic, eddy current and ultrasoniccoating thickness gages

Check Standards■ Ideal for use in the field or on the factory floor

■ Each set consists of three (3) test standards; one zero (uncoated)and two (2) epoxy coated at high and low thicknesses

■ Available with either a ferrous substrate for use with magnetic typecoating thickness gages, or a non-ferrous substrate for use witheddy current type gages

■ Mounted in durable leatherette binder
