Principal’s Report

Cobar Public School is an Allergy Aware school. On the

front page of every newsletter is a reminder of this. The school maintains this position as there are students

who are anaphylactic to nuts and nut based products. With

this in mind, the position of the school, ratified by the P&C, is that nuts and nut based products are not to be

brought onto the school grounds.

It is disappointing therefore that recently a number of

Nutella packets and Picnic chocolate bar wrappers have been found littering the grounds.

A reminder then that peanut butter, Nutella, Picnic bars,

raw nuts or any other product that contains nuts are not to

be brought onto the school grounds.

It has been a busy week for students with a number of in-teresting curriculum opportunities being held. Under the

watchful eye of Laura from Healthy Outback Kids, 4/5/6S

learned some cooking skills using produce from our garden. This is an ongoing opportunity for our students

with a different class working with Laura each term.

The boy’s Moorambilla Camp is being held this week and

we wish all the best for our students heading to Barradine to participate. The girl’s camp is being held next week.

Our year 6 girls continue to participate in a self-esteem

building program A Book of Me being run weekly in conjunction with Barnardos.

Finally our school Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday

this week. Results will be published in next week’s news-

letter but congratulations go to the many students who

participated.

LEARNER

TORI SIVIOUR DAMIEN TRUDGETT RUSTY HODGES

Tori has impressed Ernie since she has been at

Cobar Public School. She always uses a polite

voice and does as she is asked by teachers.

Tori always wears her school uniform with pride

and is friendly with other children. She shares

equipment with others and loves to help out in

the school garden. Great work Tori - Ernie

thinks you're amazing!

Ernie spotted Rusty being respectful

to the younger students at the

special awards assembly. He was

asking them to sit quietly and to face

the front. Great work Rusty!

Ernie was super impressed with Damien Trudgett on Dreaming Day.

Damien was seen being an excellent learner throughout the day by

listening to instructions and participating to the best of his ability in

every activity. Ernie was hoping the teachers kept your group's

Gunya as he was thinking that would have been a great new home

for him.

Miss Fleming would like to thank her dedicated dance

group for their consistent effort in learning a dance

routine for our Dreaming Day opening. These amazing

students picked their own music, dance moves and

choreographed the dance in a time span of 3 weeks, giving

up their lunch times to practise.
