Principal’s Report

It has been a busy week with a lot happening!

Welcome to all our Smooth Start children and parents. It was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces. We look forward to seeing you at school on Monday or Tuesday. I am sure you will enjoy spending time at Cobar Public getting to know each other, the teachers and students. Mrs Baker and Miss Martin are very excited about the next few weeks.

Mr Harvey and Mrs Fennamore are away for three days of Intervention training in Sydney. They will then return to train our staff either this year or early next year.

A large number of year 3 and 4 students went away on an excursion to Lake Burrendong with Mrs Jermyn and Mr Coombe. By all accounts they had a wonderful time even without the water activities. Students challenged themselves in activities many had never even seen or attempted before. Congratulations and well done! Thank you to Mrs Jermyn and Mr Coombe for your effort and excellent supervision.

Teachers from Gold Team are visiting Bourke Public this week and next week to observe different classroom settings and look at pedagogical practices. We thank the staff and students at Bourke Public for making our staff feel welcome.

Year 6 students are enjoying the ‘Year 6 Transition’ program at Cobar High. The high school teachers have been impressed with our students and how they willingly engage in the activities. There will be two more visits to the high school before the end of the term.

Thank you to all our staff for your commitment towards doing your best in your role and above what is required to ensure our students have the greatest opportunities. To our wonderful stu-dents, your efforts for this semester will be noted in your school reports.

Who Got

Spotted this

week?

Atamarie Haronga

Ernie was impressed with how well Ata answered the phone using a courteous

and pleasant voice. Ata is highly regarded by her peers

because of the way she respectfully treats others.

Great effort Ata!

Congratulations

Tyronne Cohen-Quayle

Tyronne Cohen-Quayle from 1/2C was spotted by Ernie for ‘Using Equipment for its Purpose’ and

encouraging other students to do the same. He was making patterns with textas and then ensuring that he put the lid on the textas when

he had finished with them. Keep up the fantastic work

Tyronne!

Responsible

Cooper Turner was spotted by Ernie for participating to the

best of his ability during maths activities. Ernie could see that Cooper was listening carefully to his teacher and he was also trying his best - how
