There’s only one distillery in the Scottish Highlands where the whisky is made by hand: The Balvenie. Built in 1892 in Dufftown we still today practise the original five rare crafts of whisky making. This commitment to craftsmanship brings invaluable skill, knowledge, experience and passion to every stage of the process. We believe it produces a better quality whisky.
Nowhere else will you find a distillery that grows its own barley, still malts in its own traditional floor maltings and still employs a team of coopers to tend all the casks and a coppersmith to maintain the stills.
Our fifth rare craft is that of Malt Master, David Stewart. Over fifty years’ experience enables him to skilfully use different types of cask and different ages of spirit to craft The Balvenie range of single malts.

30YO - The Balvenie Thirty is a rare and especially fine single malt for which David Stewart selects only exceptional casks that were laid down over thirty years ago.
