A music magazine cover follows the codes and conventions of a normal magazine cover by that there are coverlines on the front cover, the title is the biggest text direct address is used. But there are differences which makes a music magazine cover unique

The codes and conventions of a music magazine contents page are very similar to a normal magazine but there are some difference.

•Headings to group articles, features and dominate content

•Colours to make headings standout

•Image reflects genre and the attitude of the artists.

•Headline always the biggest text on the page often bleeds across two pages. Puns are used sometimes song titles but they don’t explain the article.

•There is a stand first to introduce the article font size 14pt. Works with the headline and image to tell the audience what the article is about

• A drop capital is used to tell the reader where to start reading the article. Sometimes the first two words are in bold this is to break the article up.

• Panels, small images and quotes are also used in the text to break it up and to make it more appealing to read.

• Text size normally no bigger than 11PT

• Strap at the top indicating what the feature is.

• The style of writing allows a journalists personality to come out. ‘I’ is used so first person is used sometimes

• Opinion is used and language and register are appropriate for the genre and target audience
