The critical issue is to manage the interaction between the flexible and the specific. The gradient of specificity, hence, becomes an architectural operation. Spaces can be clus-tered or be disconnected. They can operate on adjacency or proximity. They can also incorporate various gradients of openness or closure, thus be permanently or temporary subdivided to support team building and incubators.
