Horehound Candy DropsYou will need:1 Cup of dried horehound2 ½ cups water½ cup corn syrup3 cups brown sugar1 tsp butter1 tsp lemon juice1 tsp cream of tartar8 inch buttered pan

1. In large saucepan combine the horehound and water.2. Bring to a boil and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes3. Strain the horehound through a cheesecloth into another

bowl.4. Place 2 cups of the strained horehound mixture into a

large pan and add in brown sugar, corn syrup and cream of tarter.

5. Bring to a boil, stirring often and use and candy thermometer to bring the temp to 240 degrees F.

6. Add butter and continue to boil to 300 degrees F.7. Remove candy from the heat and stir in lemon juice8. Pour mixture into 8 in buttered pan and cut into squares

when mixture cools9. Wrap in individual cellophane wrappers or store in an

airtight container.

Other Remedies -Teas Catnip Tea (Soothes Nervous System, expectorant, fever reducer)

• Boil 2 cups of water and pour over 1 ounce dried catnip (1 -2 tbs)• Optional: 1 tsp or to taste / honey and or lemon• Brew for 10 to 20 min• 3 to 4 cups daily

Cold and Flu Tea: • 1 part peppermint• 1 part lemon balm• 1 part Elder Flowers• 1 part yarrow flower• Optional: 1 tsp. ginger, honey and lemon
