Introduction Collab8 is a unique and disruptive wireless presentation and collaboration technology. The device plugs into and converts any display, located anywhere in the organization, into an instant meeting point for pure collaboration, independent of device incompatibility, hardware availability, and connectivity constraints. Collab8 is an audiovisual integrator. The Collab8 box connects to and works off an existing wireless network and links every device in a meeting space with the primary presentation screen. Each member attends the meeting with their existing devices — desktops, laptops, notebooks, tablets and mobile phones — and is able to immediately view, edit, annotate, comment, and share content with every other member. In addition, each member may opt to share ideas across the primary screen, or break off into smaller groups to share content with only a select few from the meeting. Collab8 is collaboration technology that directly addresses an organization’s information technology (IT) pain points by integrating with the organization’s current IT infrastructure, rather than overhauling it. Collab8 converts any projector or screen into a networked appliance that then enables users to connect to that shared display using their current devices. Every connection to the shared display is wireless, and independent of adapters, cables, wires and compatibility peripherals. Essentially, Collab8 is technology that is intuitively able to get technology out of the way. Collab8 prioritizes the natural flow of presenting ideas during discussions, instead of constraining these ideas through current technology limitations. Imagine if just about every space in an organization became a fully-functional meeting point for the exchange of ideas. Imagine boardrooms, offices, cafeterias, lounges, hallways, lobbies, and remote locations — in short, any space with a screen — were now areas in which ideas could openly flow. The result would be unprecedented levels of collaboration, which would in turn burgeon innovation across the organization.


Purpose The purpose of this document is to describe the process of Collab8 software installation.

Intended Audience and Reading Suggestions This document is meant for the WOW-Vision’s Resellers / Dealers / Customers who wants to install Collab8 software.

Prerequisites Hardware Requirements Processor – Intel i5 [3rd or 4th (ivy-bridge or haswell – latest

generation CPU 2.9 GHz or higher)] RAM – 4 GB minimum [higher is better] HDD – 32 GB SSD minimum [ 64gb or higher recommended] LAN - 1 100mbps minimum [Gigabit recommended] Video Out – 720p minimum [HDMI or DVI or VGA] Audio – Either over HDMI or Audio Ports USB – 2 minimum A keyboard, mouse and display connected with this system

Software Requirements Windows 7 64 bit (Pro or Ultimate) pre installed on a hardware

matching above specs. Collab8 Software Installer: Collab8_Software_Installer.exe copied in a

Thumb drive (Pen drive\USB drive)


Collab8 Software Installation 1. Create two windows users as Administrator

a. Collab8 (Recommended without Password) b. Admin (Recommended with a password for later usage as admin

account) You can create user from Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family System > Add or Remove User Account > Create a new account > Enter User name Collab8 > select Administrator > Create Account

2. Login into this system with Collab8 user 3. Now connect that thumb drive with this system and execute

Collab8_Software_Installer.exe 4. Enter password provided to you

5. Setup will start extracting of setup files will start:

6. Click on Yes at UACL Security window


7. Click on Next at below screen:

8. Then Accept the License Agreement and click on Next


9. Now click on Install

10. Installation process will start and you will see the below screen:


11. Now setup will install all the required components by itself

12. Then click on Finish at the completion of installation process:

13. Now reboot the system.


14. After reboot and when system starts you will see the below screen for licensing process, here enter Serial Number provided from WOWVISION with this installer.

15. Then click on Settings to configure LAN Settings:


16. Then click on LAN Settings and define IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default

Gateway, DNS Server then click on Apply Settings and Reboot:

Collab8 Gateway will be ready after reboot and you can use it for innovative collaboration session.


Run Collab8 Client Collab8 client is a “one click” run client and does not require any installation, you just need to download it and execute it.

Steps to run Collab8 client: 1. Open any Web Browser and enter the IP Address of Collab8 Unit. The

IP Address by default displayed on the Collaboration unit. 2. Download Client as per your OS version and save it on your desktop

(or just execute the application without saving it) a. Windows: Collab8app.exe b. MAC: Collab8app.dmg

3. Run/execute the downloaded Collab8 client 4. Enter Room Name/ IP Address in Location field. The Room Name is

displayed on the Collaboration Display. 5. Nick Name. The Nick Name field gets auto filled. This is the name

which will be shown in Participant List to other logged in users of that collaboration session. You can change this nick name to any nick name you like.


6. Enter Room Code: This is will be available at the display of Collab8 Unit. Room Code is used to make sure that you have joined the correct room and a level of security too. It changes after 20 – 25 minutes of the session.

7. Click on Login to join Collaboration session.

As soon as you will log into Collab8, the client application screen changes to the following:

Now you are ready to Collaborate using Collab8.


Troubleshooting Problem 1: All the installation done successfully but windows user Collab8 not login by itself? Solution: If you have configured password for Collab8 user while creating this user then follow the below steps to Auto login

Steps to set Auto login for Collab8 User: 1. Login with Admin user into windows 2. Go to start and type run in Search Program and Files text box and

press enter

3. Here type netplwiz and press enter


4. Now you will see below screen, here select Collab8 user and uncheck User must enter a user name and password to use this computer then click on Apply

5. Then enter Password and Confirm Password of Collab8 User and click

on OK then OK

6. After this reboot the system and next time it will be Auto Login with

Collab8 user.


Problem 2: After reboot there was a screen saying “Please wait while system is getting ready” and after few second I was able to see the wallpaper but when I clicked on login of Collab8, it shows “You are not authorized to login at this moment, please try after some time”.

Solution: This could be occurring because of network connection. Please follow below steps:

1. Open Settings of Collabs8 2. Click on LAN Settings 3. Click on Apply once and reboot, after reboot, Collab8 will login by itself.
