Thepurposeofthisvirtualcommunityistofacilitatestudent-focusedlearning,fostercriticalthinkingandtoenableopportunitiesforinter-professionallearning.InthecontextofCommunityHealth,studentsmayinteractwiththescenariostodetermineaclients’healthneedsandgoals,evaluatefacilitatorsandbarrierstoimprovedhealthexperiences,andanalysewaysinwhichtheycouldprovidesupportorservices.

Studentscaninteractwiththemediaresourcesattheirownpace,usingtheirownsenseoflogic.Itisintendedthatacademicswilllinktothiswebresourcethroughsubjecti2sites,inordertoscaffoldthespecificpurposeofthestudents’learningexperience.

ThedesignofRiverinaShorehasbeenplannedcarefullytoenableintuitivenavigationaroundthecommunity,tostimulatethestudents’curiosityandtoensureeasyaccesstolinkedonlineresources.Thewebsiteisaccessiblethroughmobiledevicestomaximisefunctionality.
