What is meant by context?

In education, the context is the study of a specific school or class in order to design an appropriate structure for the context object of study about what and how to teach in an effective way.To prepare the design, we need to check the following aspects: People (students and stakeholders), physical setting, teaching resources nature of the course and institution, teaching resources and time.

Why is important to define one’s context?

Defining the context is important because if the teacher has knowledge of the context and identify the needs of a group, is going to be able to design and prepare an effective syllabus in order to provide accurate input for students according to their needs.

After analyzing your context does anything stand out that will be a major source or constraint in developing

your course?

According to the classes observed, the teacher give the lessons using the school text which is an evidence that there is not a previous planning of the class. Is a reason to suggest the importance of planning a lesson showing her different options of activities according to the context to extend her way to teach English.

After analyzing your context does anything stand out that will be a major source or constraint in developing

your course? Lack of material to work with The teacher is not well trained for English teaching The environment of the classroom is poor Teachers give instruction in Spanish and English is only used

to present a topic or to introduce new vocabulary. English language teaching process doesn’t include techniques

such as role play, storytelling through games and good relation to elicit student’s participation in class.

Can you identify particular challenges that you will need

to address in order to design a successful course?

The modification of the curriculum including audiovisual support and internet access to complement the course with different activities.

Having into account the Coordinator declarations, it will be necessary to make an investment in suitable furniture which facilitate working in group.

To increase the amount of hours per week having into consideration that the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages suggest five to eight hours per week.

The teacher should star to elicit students to speak English in class.

Can you identify particular challenges that you will need

to address in order to design a successful course?

Ability to develop projects in a multilevel group, Imagining and creating strategies and spatiotemporal organization in spite of the lack of resources and preparation in this language.

Streamlines and cooperate in the social and cultural life in the education-school process is inserted.

Create awareness within the students about considering English as a training need on a personal level to get a full development in the academic and professional area of their lives, understanding that English is one of the most important languages  globally spoken.
