2nd July 2017 AD MINISTRY MORSEL As announced last Sunday, God has answered our prayers and raised up a Young Families Minister to serve amongst us. This appointment is subject to the finalization of the Bush Church Aid Society (BCA) process of interview and review which has already begun. Due to the processes still underway it is not possible for any announcements that identify the candidate. All I am able to say at this time is that he is married with children. I am confident about the quality of the appointment. The appointment is the outcome of much prayer and a rigorous process which began with the Bishop, myself and the National Director of BCA selecting a short list from the applications received. Considerable face to face time and other conversations involving me and the Bishop then took place with a shared agreement that the candidate offered the position was the most suitable of those who applied. More than that, both the Bishop and I believe this candidate is suitably experienced, gifted and motivated to add something substantial to our existing parish ministry and to the Diocese. This candidate also spent face to face time with Pam Stone and the Parochial Nominators, Denise Lockett and Anne Dorman prior to my invitation to accept the position. They join with me in confidently supporting the quality of the candidate. Early indications are that this family will move to the parish just prior to the beginning of the last term of school. Parish Council will begin to work through the practical matters requiring attention to facilitate a smooth beginning to this new ministry. Please pray for a smooth transition and particularly for the provision of suitable accommodation. FEBC AUSTRALIA - Beautiful feet go to the unreached - Most Christians aren’t aware that more than 2 billion people have heard about Jesus. Only

one percent of resources given to Christian causes goes to reaching the unreached. Only five percent of the missionaries serving in foreign fields are in places where the gospel has not yet been. Almost 1800 people groups still have no Scripture in their language. “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?” - Rom 10:14 - As believers, we know the hope and salvation of Jesus. But what of those unreached billions of hearts around the world crying out for hope? FEBC Australia, part of FEBC International, uses radio and internet programming to inspire people to follow Christ. We raise up ethnic language broadcasters and programmers so all people groups may hear God’s Word in their own language. Please help FEBC take Him to those still unreached. (Anne)

We are updating our Birthday/Wedding Anniversary diary at the back of the church.

Can you please check that yours has been transferred correctly. We like to acknowledge birthdays and wedding anniversaries in our services and newsletter. If you are new or your details are not in the black diary on the back table we encourage you to do so please.

OLD TESTAMENT PAPER: Over time concern has been expressed in the parish about our practice of public reading Old Testament passages depicting violence in the name of God. Connected with this is a view held by some that the God of the Old Testament is not the God of the New Testament. As a means of responding to these matters, David has written a paper to answer these concerns and assist people in interpreting and understanding these difficult parts of the Bible. The paper is on the notice board for people to peruse. If anyone would like a copy it can be emailed or provided in hard copy. Please let the Office know and the paper will be provided in the manner you request.

LICENSED LAY MINISTERS When Synod enters the beginning of a fresh 3 year cycle the Licenses of LLM’s requires renewal. I asked the Bishop to issue a fresh licence for our LLM’s: Yve Fraser, Steve Egan and Anne Dorman. I will present their licence at the next 8am services as each of them serve in the LLM role.
