BloCk ASSeMBlyThere are 24 blocks, all made in the same way with fabric changes. Follow the main construction diagrams for the first block and repeat for the rest using the fabric placements shown.

SIMPle DIAgonAl BloCkS1. Sew a Fabric A and B 4 7/8” triangle together on long diagonal side to make a half square triangle (hst) as shown in BloCk 1. (Make 3)

2. Sew two HST units side by side and add a single Fabric A triangle to the right as shown in FIgUre 1.

3. Sew a Fabric A triangle to the right of one HST UnIT as shown in FIgUre 2.

4. Sew to the bottom of FIgUre 2. Now sew a Fabric A triangle to the bottom of the block unit to complete a SIMPle DIAgonAl PArT A UnIT.

5. Lay a Fabric A 4 ½” square right side down onto the square corner of a Fabric g 12 7/8” triangle. Make sure the diagonal line is parallel with the diagonal line on the large triangle. Sew on the drawn line, trim to ¼” seam allowance and press to the corner. This completes the SIMPle DIAgonAl PArT B UnIT.

6. Place SIMPle DIAgonAl Part A and B Units right sides together and sew the diagonal seam to complete DIAgonAl BloCk 1 (Make 3) Repeat to make another block using Fabric D 4 7/8” accent triangles for Part A. MAkeS DIAgonAl BloCk 2 (Make 3) Square to 12 ½”.

7. Rotate and sew DIAgonAl BloCkS 1 & 2 together to create BloCk A for the upper left corner of the quilt center. Set aside. Upper left section 24 ½” unfinished.

UPPer rIgHT SeCTIon oF QUIlT:8. Sew (3) PArT A SIMPle DIAgonAl BloCkS using Fabric H background triangles and Fabric I accent triangles.

10. Sew (1) PArT A Simple Diagonal Blocks using Fabric H background triangles and Fabric D accent triangles.

11. Sew (1) PArT B Simple Diagonal Blocks using a Fabric H background triangle and Fabric C 12 7/8” triangles. Sew together to make block (Square to 12 ½”)

FInISHIng : Cut batting and backing 3” larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim

excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.
