Collector’s Choice #29, the Tamio Okuda 1959 Les Paul, replicated from his original serial Number 9-1165, makes its mark as one of the first ’59 Originals to be replicated in collaboration with one of Japan’s most renown artists, as well as a fantastic example of an original Les Paul. As a member of UNICORN, an accomplished solo artist, and as a writer and producer, Tamio Okuda has left a long and impressive mark on Rock and Roll, both in his home country of Japan as well as around the world. In Japan, his work includes an explosive solo career featuring a debut album in 1993, ’29’, that sold in the millions of copies, and writing credits with Japan’s Puffy AmiYumi, Kaela Kimura and fellow rock star Yosui Inoue. In the USA, he’s toured with Steve Jordan and Willie Weeks as a member of the Alternative rock band The Verbs.
