College Magazine Montage

This was inspiring through the various cover lines that are used. The size and boldness of each text and what the stories are about. The main cover lines also coincide with the images. E.g ‘NYCs Freshman Fashion CEO’ and there is a young woman in the foreground with clothes in the background.

The magazine is laid out with the image capturing the readers’ interest. The mast-line is plain and simple, focusing on the text of what is going to happen in the magazine rather than the cover.

I chose this magazine because of the simplicity of it. Its pointing out that not all magazines have to be over colourful and full of text. It also took on a border which stands out along with the text compared to the dull coloured image.

The font of the cover inspired me to use various styles, popping out to grab the audiences attention. Along with the scribbled background. It made me think about using a picture but perhaps cutting out the background instead and keeping to a set colour which would grab the audiences attention.

The content page of ‘The Eye’ is spaced with few pictures and mainly text. It uses bright colours which grabs the readers attention. It also adds more of what the college is about, providing the reader with the layout and general idea of what they will be reading. As content pages usually do.
