The Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management Technology is designed to provide highly specialized education that prepares students for sucessful careers in management of the construction process. To execute the increasingly complex designs of the architect and engineer, professional constructors work with the design professionals but pursue an educational program focused on the construction industry.

The construction industry represents a significant portion of the gross domestic product in terms of the total work force in the United States. As the industry continues to grow, the need for graduates of accredited four-year programs continues to increase. Today, the industry is relying more and more on the individual who is uniquely trained and equipped to handle the exacting demands of the construction profession.

a C C r e d i T a T i o nThe Construct ion Management Technology Program at Oklahoma State University is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC of ABET).

s T u d e n T a C T i V i T i e s & s C h o l a r s h i P sThe Construction Management Society (CMS) is the principal student organization and operates under the guidance of a faculty advisor. Members of CMS are also members of the Student Chapters of the Associated General Contractors and the National Association of Home Builders.

Students also have the opportunity to compete on Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Competition Teams that focus on Commercial Building, Design Build, and Heavy Highway Construction. OSU teams have traditionally placed at the regional level with many teams advancing to the national competition.

Various industry associations and individual construction companies provide several thousand dollars each year for student scholarships. In addition, there are opportunities for students to apply for substantial annual scholarship awards from national construction industry associations.

Transfer Credit EvaluationTransfer credit evaluation in the Offi ce of Undergraduate Admissions determines acceptable transfer credit on a course-by-course basis for college-level credit earned at institutions who are fully accredited by any of the six US regional associations. The evaluation is based on course content, as described in the catalogs of those institutions and in consultation with appropriate academic units at OSU.
