What are College Placement Exams?

• Colleges use placement tests to check the academic skill levels of entering students.

• Tests usually cover Math, Reading and Writing.

•Most schools have some form of a placement test in order to determine if students are ready for college level work, or if they will need to take remedial classes first.

• Based on test scores, colleges will place students in the appropriate level courses. The goal is to increase students chances of academic success in college.
