Datacolor International has introduced the Dataf’lash 100 spectrophotometer, which is only 5.4kg (121b) in weight and measures 32 x 19 x 19cm (12,6 x 7.5 x 7.5 inches). It will sit comfortably in the smallest space of a laboratory bench, in the production plant, on a design department desk or a point-of-sale countertop. Measurement time takes only three seconds, and the unit’s long-life xenon light source is said to provide up to one million flashes.

The user commands the unit to measure through its host computer keyboard, and can electronically select specular included or excluded, Double door sample port design gives the option for small and large colour samptes andt for previewing the exact site to be measured.

Akros Chemicals opens facility in New Brunswick

Akros Chemicals America, a 50-50 joint venture of Harcros Chemicals in the UK and Akzo Nobel of The Netherlands, has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art laboratory at its New Brunswick site.

Akros Chemicals America is engaged in the manufac~re of a broad range of products for the ~ermoplastics industry; these include tin stabilizers and mixed metal soap stabilizers, polyester catalysts, biocides and coating additives.
