Cursillo is a ministry of the Church providing opportunities to deepen our knowledge and understanding of the risen Christ. We accomplish this by: Inviting God’s presence in our everyday life Embracing our various gifts and talents as sacred, and Transforming our world by proclaiming the extraordinary in the ordinary The Cursillo Ministry in the Diocese of Olympia is intended to renew and refresh our walk with Christ. The Secretariat, like a Bishop’s Committee or Vestry, oversees this. The Secretariat is comprised of lay people and two clergy from around the Diocese who serve a three-year and two year term. We are striving to keep the weekend fresh and inviting and have eliminated some things that don’t serve the ultimate goal, and added some things that do. Our focus has moved from make a friend, be a friend, bring a friend to Christ to recognizing our gifts and how we can take those gifts back to our parishes and communities to make a difference there. Although we have lots of surprises still for the candidates, we have been intentional about removing what people think of as the secrets and creating a more open conversation about the weekend. We are letting go of what does not feed the purpose and ultimate goal, and including what does. Although the talks are the same topics as before, the format is different and includes dialog around those topics. At the day’s end there is opportunity for candidates to engage in discussion and make comments to the room. The schedule contains the same elements as before and is intended to be flexible to enhance those activities. And, as always, the schedule is at the discretion of the leader and their vision. A major goal is to draw in and expand the pool of interested team members. Expect some familiar names for a couple weekends to establish these changes, but hopefully the developing schedule and new flexibility will be an intriguing fit for different leaders and facilities and the participation of the usual suspects will diminish in frequency. We seek to be an open and welcoming community and avoid any appearance of cliquishness. We hope team members will request to work instead of waiting to be called. WE WANT YOU to let us know you want to work. The website: www.olycursillo.org has a place to let us know that and we hope you will seize this opportunity and also to update your profile. We want willing hearts, especially those who have not worked before and want an opportunity to do so. Please, join us at mananitas and closing (check the times!). Come see what God is doing with these seeking hearts. - Allegra Andersen, secretary & communications on Secretariat ### THE COLORS Cursillo Newsletter for the Diocese of Olympia Spring 2015

We are letting go of what does not feed the purpose and ultimate goal, and including what does. Although the talks are the same topics as before, the format is different and includes
