MAJOR TRAIL CONNECTIONSNote: The major trail connection ideas outlined here are informed by City and Private Development processes concurrent with this plan: the Colwood Waterfront Improvement Project, Royal Beach Developments, Latoria Area Developments, and the Colwood Active Transportation Network Plan.
8. Community Waterfront Route Network• Continuous public trail access between the head of lagoon (by bridge)
to the City boundary south of Royal Beach• Develop new trail sections and link to upgraded existing trail sections• Target accessibility for wheels• Provide rest points, interest points, and connections to adjacent
upland amenities and economic development opportunities
9. ROYAL – Beach to Mountain Route Network• Link existing trail segments with upgrades to new trail segments to
provide a continuous trail route from the beach at Perimeter Park up to a lookout at the top of Havenwood Park
• Develop lookout areas by Perimeter Pl. and Gratton Rd.• Include seating/rest areas, trail markers, and interpretive signage
throughout
10. LATORIA – Mountain to Beach Route Network• Link the high point in Havenwood Park down to the beach and
waterfront at the southern City limit by linking existing trail segments with upgrades in Latoria Walk Park and Latoria Creek Park with new trail segments through Pondside Park and undeveloped parks parcels
• Include seating/rest areas, trail markers, and interpretive signage throughout
