TheusedsemiconductorsandcomponentsofKEBarede-velopedanddimensionedfortheuseinindustrialproducts.IftheKEBCOMBIVERTisusedinmachines,whichworkunderexceptionalconditionsorifessentialfunctions,life-supportingmeasuresoranextraordinarysafetystepmustbefulfilled,thenecessaryreliabilityandsecuritymustbeensuredbythemachinebuilder.
1.3 QualificationAllworkfromthetransport,toinstallationandstart-upaswellasmaintenancemayonlybedonebyqualifiedpersonnel(IEC364and/orCENELECHD384orDINVDE0100andnotenationalsafetyregulations).Accordingtothismanualqualifiedstaffmeansthosewhoareabletorecogniseandjudgethepossibledangersbasedontheirtechnicaltrainingandexperienceandthosewithknowledgeoftherelevantstandardsandwhoarefamiliarwiththefieldofpowertransmission(VDE0100,VDE0160(EN50178),VDE0113(EN60204)aswellasthosewhonotethevalidlocalregulations).

1.5 Product descriptionTheUSBserialconverterisusedfortheconnectionofKEBinverters,operatorsorcontrolswithDIN66019interfaceorinterfaceHSP5attheUSBportofpersonalcomputers.Itrepre-sentsavirtualCOMinterfaceonPCside.
TheUSBserialconverterisnotastandardUSBserialconverter.ItcanbeusedexclusivelyforthecommunicationwithKEBunitswiththeinterfacesspecifiedabove.Theconvertermustbepluggeddirectlyontheinterface.A0.2m,1:1cablecanbeusedasextension.UseadapterDSUB9toRJ45(00F50C0-0020)toconnecttheHSP5interfacebyRJ45socket.

Installation:
1. The*.inf-filemustbeassignedoncetothesystemonthePC.
TheinstallationmustbemadeseparatelyforeachUSBport.
2. Theassistentfornewhardwareopensautomatically,iftheconverterisconnectedtoanotyetconfiguredforUSBserialconverter.
3. TheUSB-inf-fileislocatedina„USBdriverpackage“.The„USBdriverpackage“canbedownloadedunderwww.keb.de Download Searchfor:„USBdriverpackage“.Extractthe„USBdriverpackage“filesafterthedownload
4 Setthepathinwhichthe"kebcdc_win7.inf"fileisfound.
5. Continue installation. Ignore thewarning for theWindowscompatibility testand„continueinstallation“.
6. Finishtheinstallation
ComputerswithWindows7donotaskforadriverbecauseaSTElectronicdriverisautomaticallyinstalledbythesystem.Thefunctionisgiven,butisrecognizedasUSBconverter,notasKEBunit.Ifrequireditcanbereplacedmanually.
With the KEB-USB converter the parameter files can not be read out byCOMBIVIS 5 from F5.
