DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE (TECHNIQUE / SKILL)CROSS OVERS --- 2 v 2 (+1)
Three players combine to make A Crossover to complete a successful Attack against One Defender. Practice involves a good first pass – good movement to receive
ORGANISATIONPlayers play in a 15 x 12 metre gridWith two 5 metre end zones
1. Before ball is played 2 central reds move towards each other from wide areas to cross over one another in a central area2. When 2 attackers and 2 defenders are all close together, centrally, space will be created on flanks3. Zone Player plays to one of two red receivers – on the outside4. Reds accelerate into space5. Exploit space created6. End Product – final pass
KEY OBSERVATION1. Starting Positions – see defenders, passer and see ball2. Angle, Distance & Speed of Approach – believable movement3. Movement - Cross each other – ensure defenders don’t get in way – head up4. Space created to side - Server plays ball into space5. Exploit Space – Attackers accelerate down sides of grid 6. End Product - Finish with a pass into far end zone
