safe rural healthcare in India. The purpose of association with IFRS was to have
cooperation of likeminded overseas health deliverers to share knowledge and to upgrade
health management of the rural poor, to develop ingenious and inexpensive methods to
treat maladies of those who do not get access to modern treatment. In the last two
decades we have come a long way to achieve few of our targets. In remote and tribal areas
our ARSI members have been able to deliver quality health care at an affordable cost.
The combined association of IFRS and ARSI which interacts with stalwarts from
international and national, developed and developing countries in the form of such
biennial conferences will help in promoting our objectives. This meeting is to be held in ,
Krishna Institute of medical Sciences University , Karad, Maharashtra India, in true rural
surroundings, a perfect environment to have a conference of such an intent.
We are sure, the scientific content of this meeting will be of the highest order. There will
be great opportunity to share and renew friendships and extend new ones .The theme of
the conference is ''Changing trends in rural surgery and benefit of the patient “ which
aptly showcases our journey in rural health care from the last decade to a plan for the
future. It will be an unforgettable and memorable experience filled with academic, cultural
and social extravaganza. There will be workshops, operative seminars, symposia, panel
