    Tips for Making Calls Throughoutthisguideyouwillnoticethatmanyofthecallingfeaturesrequireyoutopressthe or

    keys. You can nd these keys on either side o the on your telephones keypad. Someofthecallingfeatureswillrequirethatyoupresstheswitchhookorashbutton.

    Onnon-cordlesstelephones,theswitchhookisthebuttonthatdisconnectsyourcallwhenyouhangup.When instructed to press the switchhook, be sure to press it rmly, and then release it to ensure thatthe eature is activated. Do not press it too long, however, or the call may be disconnected.

    911 EmergencyIn most major cities, emergency police, re, and medical services can be reached by dialing .Enhanced 911 (E911) automatically provides the emergency service with your telephone number and locationwhen you dial 911 rom your home phone. Comcast Digital Voice service may have E911 limitations speciedbelow: Inorderforyour911callstobeproperlydirectedtoemergencyservices,Comcastmusthaveyourcorrect

    service address. I you move Comcast Digital Voice service to a dierent address without Comcastapproval, 911 calls may be directed to the wrong emergency authority, may transmit the wrong address,

    CALLING FEATURESFor your convenience, you get 12 popular calling eatures included with your Comcast Digital Voice service.

    Someofthefollowingcallingfeatureswillrequirethatyoucreateaspeciclist(e.g.,prioritylist,blocklist, etc.). These lists are distinct rom one another and will remain stored so that each time you activate aparticular eature, it will reer to the list or lists you created.

    Call ForwardingCall Forwarding allows you to orward all o your incoming calls to another number when youre awayrom home.

    While this eature is active, you will hear a splash ring on your phone. You will not be able to answer anycalls to your home while the eature is active.

    Our voice services network is comprised o multiple platorms. As a result, some eatures work dierentlydepending upon the platorm being utilized to provide your Comcast Digital Voice service. Below are twopossible ways o activating and deactivating the Call Forwarding eature.

    Access Call Forwarding Option 1

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press and wait to hear the dial tone again.3. Dial the number where youd like to have your calls orwarded. Remember to dial and/or the area

    code beore the number i its necessary to place the call.4. A courtesy call will be placed to the number.5. I the party answers, the eature is activated. I the number is busy or no one answers, repeat steps 1-3

    within 2 minutes, and you will hear a conrmation tone that the eature has been activated.6. I you want to change the orward to number, cancel the eature, then repeat steps 1-5.

    Access Call Forwarding Option 2

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press and immediately dial the number where youd like to have your calls orwarded.

    Remember to dial and/or the area code beore the number i its necessary to place the call.3. Listen or the conrmation that the eature has been activated.4. I you want to change the orward to number, just repeat steps 1-3.

    To Cancel Call Forwarding

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press .

    Call Forwarding SelectiveCall Forwarding Selective allows you to orward only the calls you dont want to miss by creating a list opeople whose calls will be orwarded to a number you designate. When you activate this eature, only callsrom those individuals on your list will be orwarded.

    To Activate Call Forwarding Selective

    1. Lit the receiver, listen or the dial tone, and press .

    2. A menu o options will guide you in managing this eature. The prompts will enable you to activate anddeactivate the eature as well as add and delete the numbers on your list.

    Call WaitingCall Waiting allows you to take a second call withoutdisconnecting the rst. When youre on the phone, you will heara tone when you have another incoming call. You can simply put

    the rst caller on hold and answer the second call. I youre onan important call and do not wish to answer the incoming call,you can continue talking and let the call go to voice mail.

    You can also temporarily cancel Call Waiting so that you will notbe disturbed during important calls. I you temporarily cancelCall Waiting, incoming calls will be orwarded directly to yourvoice mail. Call Waiting will automatically be restored or thenext call.

    Each conversation is private and cannot be heard by the other

    party. Call Waiting can interere with ax calls and dial-upconnections to the Internet.

    To Use Call Waiting

    1. When you hear the Call Waiting tone, simply press andrelease the switchhook or fash button.

    2. Your rst call will be placed on hold and you will be able toanswer your second call.

    3. You can alternate between the two calls by pressing andreleasing the switchhook or fash button.

    4. To end the rst call and answer the second, simply hang up.Your phone will ring and the second caller will be on the line.

    To Temporarily Cancel Call Waiting

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press , then dial the party you wish to call.3. Call Waiting is canceled or the current call only.

    Caller IDCaller ID allows you to see the number and, i available, the

    name o the incoming caller. You can then decide whether or notto answer the call. I you choose not to answer the call, the callerwill be orwarded directly to your voice mail.

    SpecialequipmentisrequiredtotakeadvantageofCallerID.Comcastdoesnotprovidethisequipment.Sometypesofcallscannot be displayed with Caller ID.

    Caller ID with Call WaitingGet Caller ID inormation when youre already on the phone.

    When you hear the Call Waiting tone, Caller ID with Call Waitingallows you to see the number and, where available, the nameo your incoming caller. I you decide you want to answer thesecond call, simply press and release the switchhook or fashbutton. I you choose not to answer the call, the caller will beorwarded directly to your voice mail.

    Call ReturnWhen youve just missed a call, Call Return tells you the number o your last incoming call and lets youautomatically call the person back.

    Call Return will not work with long-distance, international or blocked numbers.

    To Use Call Return

    1. Lit the receiver, listen or the dial tone, and press .2. You will hear the number o your last incoming call.3. I you wish to call the party back, press .4. I the line is available, your call will be connected.5. I the line is busy, Call Return will attempt to reach the party or 30 minutes.6. When the callers line is available, your phone will ring.7. When you pick up your phone, the callers phone will ring, and your call will be connected.8. I you do not wish to wait the ull 30 minutes, you can cancel the eature.

    To Cancel Call Return

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press .

    3-Way Calling

    3-Way Calling is a great way to stay connected with riends, amily and colleagues. It lets you talk with twootherpeopleononecall!

    To Initiate a 3-Way Call

    1. Once you are connected to the rst party, simply press and release the switchhook or fash button.2. The rst party is now on hold, and you will hear a second dial tone.3. Dial the number o the second party that you would like to add to the conerence call.4. When the second party answers, you can speak privately beore you connect to the rst party. When you

    are ready to connect all parties, press and release the switchhook or fash button.

    I the second partys line is busy or there is no answer, you can disconnect the second party by pressing andreleasing the switchhook or fash button twice. The rst party will still be on the line.

    Repeat Dialing

    Repeat Dialing redials a busy number until the line becomes available. While Repeat Dialing attempts to reachthe called party, you can still use your home phone to place and receive other calls.

    Repeat Dialing will not work with long-distance or international numbers.

    To Start Repeat Dialing

    1. Hang up the receiver ater you receive a busy signal.2. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.3. Press , then hang up the receiver.4. Repeat Dialing will attempt to reach the called party or 30 minutes.5. When the called partys phone is available, your phone will ring.

    6. When you pick up your phone, the called partys phone will ring, and your call will be connected.7. I you do not wish to wait the ull 30 minutes, you can cancel the eature sooner.

    Anonymous Call Rejection

    Anonymous Call Rejection automatically rejects calls romnumbers with Caller ID blocked. Callers who block the displayo their name and number will hear an automated recordingthat you are not accepting blocked calls and instructs them tounblock their Caller ID and dial you again.

    To Use Anonymous Call Rejection

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press and listen or a conrmation tone that

    the eature has been activated.

    To Cancel Anonymous Call Rejection

    Call ScreeningWhen you dont want to be interrupted by certain callers, Call Screening allows you to create a list o up to 12numbers that will receive an announcement indicating you are not presently accepting calls. When creatingyour list, enter the area code plus the 7-digit number or both local and domestic long-distance numbers.

    To Use Call Screening

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press .3. A menu o options will guide you in managing this eature. The prompts will enable you to activate and

    deactivate the eature as well as add and delete the numbers on your list.

    To Cancel Call Screening

    1. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.2. Press .

    3. A menu o options will guide you in managing this eature. The prompts will enable you to activate anddeactivate the eature.

    Call TraceCall Trace allows you to protect against oensive phone calls. It ensures that the number o your lastincoming caller is traced so that appropriate action may be taken against the harassing party.

    The inormation provided by Call Trace will not be available to you directly but will instead be available only tolaw enorcement authorities possessing a valid subpoena or other valid legal authorization. I the call is lie-threatening, call your local law enorcement authorities immediately.

    To Use Call Trace1. When you receive a harassing or oensive call, hang up immediately.2. Lit the receiver and listen or the dial tone.3. Press .4. Contact your local law enorcement agency or Comcast customer service or urther inormation.

    Caller ID Blocking Per CallCaller ID Blocking Per Call is designed to ensure that your name and number are marked Private orAnonymous each time you activate this eature beore placing a call.

    Caller ID Blocking Per Call may not be available on some calls, including calls to E911.To Activate Caller ID Blocking Per Call

    1. Lit the receiver, listen or the dial tone, and press .2. When you hear a second dial tone, dial the number you wish to call.3. Your name and number will be blocked or the current call only.

    Caller ID Blocking Per LineCaller ID Blocking Per Line is designed to ensure that your name and number are marked Private orAnonymous on every call you make rom your home. Otentimes individuals reject incoming calls that aremarked Private or Anonymous. You can temporarily cancel Caller ID Blocking Per Line so that you can callthese individuals. Caller ID Blocking Per Line will automatically be restored or the next call.

    Comcast allows you to select either Caller ID Blocking Per Call or Caller ID Blocking Per Line. The deaultsetting is Caller ID Blocking Per Call. I you wish to change this to Caller ID Blocking Per Line, please callComcast customer service. Caller ID Blocking Per Line may not be available on some calls, including callsto E911.

    To Deactivate Caller ID Blocking Per Line

    1. Lit the receiver, listen or the dial tone, and press .2. When you hear a second dial tone, dial the number you wish to call.

    3. Your name and number will appear on the called partys Caller ID display or the current call only.

    COMCAST ENHANCED VOICE MAILWith Comcast Enhanced Voice Mail, you get a whole new way to manage your voice mail. When youre awayrom home or i you just dont get to the phone in time, callers are able to leave you a message. The callercan even leave a message while youre on the phone. I you elect not to pick up an incoming call using Call

    Waiting, the call will be redirected to voice mail. The next time you pick up your phone, you will hear a stutterdial tone indicating you have a message waiting. I your phone has a message waiting indicator light, it will belit when someone leaves a message.

    Setting Up Voice MailThe rst time you call into your Comcast Enhanced Voice Mail, you must be at home in order to create a newpassword and a personalized greeting that callers will hear when they reach your voice mail.

    To Set Up Your Voice Mail
