Luke 13:31
31 At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.”
Luke 13:32-33
32 And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. 33 Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’
Luke 13:34
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!
Not willing to enter through narrow door.
Why do people refuse to enter?
• Many assume they are in already. Jn 8:33• Many looking for another way. Jn 5:39-40• Many want saved from circumstances but not their
sin.• Many angered by Jesus claims. Jn 8:32-59• Some (few) don’t believe a table exists.
Luke 13:35
35 Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
Will you enter through the Narrow Door?
What keeps You from the Table?
• Lack of Knowledge?• Love of Sin?• Pride?• Fear of Man?• Other?
Enter through the narrow door.
John 6:35-37 35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
