• Nine (9) countries across Europe.

• September 2012 until June 2014.

• Interim report in June on the proceedings and

• Final report, September 2014 - products.

• Produce specific 'products' (mainly broadcasts)

• Multiple targets:

o Acquaintance with foreign cultures, languages, etc.

o Online collaboration with other students-teachers

o Familiarization with foreign languages

Innovation and aspiration...

The innovative idea of creating a real 24hr

Web Radio for school students, has been

running since 2009 in Kampanis High

School, Kilkis, Greece. Since then,

hundreds of schools joined and produced

radio broadcasts/shows.

There is alot of story behind it but the main

idea is that European School Radio, can

become a real Radio for young europeans

across Europe.

In a glance, the program involves:

• Trips abroad for students and teachers, so Familiarity

with the English language (at least), will work with

foreign students and teachers,

• Work with Information Communication Technologies

(ICT) tools and Multimedia

• Produce broadcasts/shows for Web Radio involving

student and school interests, school activities, culture,

and other

• Setting up the English version of the Web Site/Blog

• Contests with bradcasts, project logo production, etc

• Evaluation questionnaires.

Summary (1/2)

• The project 'European School Radio: The Voice of

Young Europeans' aims to develop a European-wide

Web Radio for schools;

• The current Web Radio, European School Radio

(Greece) (http://esradio.mysch.gr) is "on-air"!

• Project's aspiration is to further develop the already

existing Web Radio with high quality management and

technical standards, incorporating as many schools

from all over Europe.

• The immediate final result will be a network of schools

(from the partnership) and in longer terms, schools

from all over Europe.

Summary (2/2)

• This on going developing -and managed by the school

community itself- Web Radio and it will use the already established

European School Radio expertise to develop it into a truly European-wide

School Web Radio station.

• broadcast in recorded and live mode:

o European school community news, music,

o interviews, and

o many other subjects related to the curriculum of the schools and the

interestsof the students: technology, environment, animal, culture,

cinema/theater,sport, celebrity news, special days, to national &

European important figures, all using English and native languages.

o In addition, music zones, music playlists, music zones, interviews, live

broadcasts from important events, Also, Logos CD/DVD collections, e-

photo albums, t-shirts with project Logo, School Carton News Board

with news and Developments about the project, and other.

The meetings...

• Seven (7) meetings in the respective countries

• Student group: will travle those who undertake work

assginments, who collaborate with foreign students &

teachers

• those who work for a particular outcome/product

• If problem with students' selection for specific country, if

need to draw.

• Official days 2-3 , journey can last 5-6 days or even a

whole week.

COSTs covered: Travel, Accommodation, Food covered.

Normally, No gifts, museums and entertainment.

In more details...our project's goal is to facilitate:

• the development of skills, dexterities and capabilities in

audio files production, recorded and live radio

broadcasting, multimedia: how to record voices, sounds and

music, how to edit and in general how to technically produce broadcasts

for Radio; will learn how to setup a basic recording studio, how to use a

Radio Automation Software (eg.Jazzler), what are the basic technology

tools to transmit audio over the Internet. Partners will be exposed to

challenges such as how to organise and promote such a radio station

online, and how to use the Internet and tools such as etwinning twinspace

and blogs, Facebook, chat, Google documents, file transfer online (ftp

and/or Dropbox), and other tools to collaborate and produce for the Radio.

Within the project lifetime and at the end of it, all

partners will give the opportunity to their pupils and

teachers to know

Also, the project aims to change the

• mentality of pupils towards using the Internet in a more

creative ways,

• to promote culture and arts, journalism, learning about

music, quality music listening, getting involved with

theatrical manuscripts and literature, learning about

scientific and environmental news, learning each other

better our countries' cultures and languages, etc.

• They are intended to be used as part of active learning

experiences: the programs provides opportunities to

respond to a range of stimuli including specially-

composed music, stories and poetry.

1. A brochure/Manual

European Added Value...

• The project adds innovative European value because it is an inspiration for

young Europeans to speak on different educational and civic topics and

make their voices audible. Introducing and developing the concept for a

"Common European School Radio” gives young Europeans a real 'voice'.

• In addition, to build long term relationships as a network of European

schools based on the acceptance of the "common cultural heritage" idea in

our schools, where entertainment and education among young teenagers

and school communities, have more in common rather than differences.

Having said that, the project will help towards overcoming of stereotypes

by work in multinational teams and by being exposed to different cultural

identities and thus experiencing the unity and diversity of Europe.

• The result of the project will be an actual EUROPEAN SCHOOL WEB

RADIO running, which will farther develop in a dynamic fashion, either in

content or partnerships, with more pupils and more countries getting

involved.

Impact of the project (1/3)

We expect partnership activities to have the following impact:-

Students are expected to:

• Develop a more optimistic approach in times of economic crisis

• Develop social and communication skills in order to improve their contact

with other people

• Develop a critical thinking so that they are going to be able to judge what

information is critical and what not, in order to develop a genuine

European learning environment for them.

• Improve their English communication skills and motivation for

communicating in a foreign-language because of the real-life experience of

using this language.

Impact (2/3)• Increase their interest in lesser used European languages

• improve their ICT skills and interest in using audio and other multimedia

tools in order to produce pod/broadcasts, global communication and the

means for research as well as for personal and interpersonal development.

• Learn international cooperation by hands-on experience of young people

meeting and working together.

• Improve their awareness of cultural similarities and differences - in a direct

and practical way

• Improve their understanding of other European countries

• Students will entertain and inform themselves by their own Radio Station

and listening and learning modern and traditional music from different

cultures in Europe.

Impact of the project (3/3)Teachers, are expected to:

- Improve their teaching skills by observing new/various teaching methods used

in other European schools.

- Exchange, disseminate and adopt good practice especially cross-thematic

ones.

- Develop enthusiasm for international learning and teaching especially in ICT

skills especially multimedia (eg. audio files)

- Learn how to develop and organise a Radio Station from the scratch.

Institutions will:

- Encourage school cooperation with local authorities and media

- Connect School to local and wider European Community

- Connect Schools to each other in a network of contact and cooperation

- Provide better European learning environment for their pupils

- Improve their educational programs – especially on European studies related

themes

- Create positive view of EU and its educational programmes.
