comenius renewable energy norway
DESCRIPTION
Presentation about renewable energy In Nowary prepared as a part of Comenius Project Be Globalny Aware by the students from Mellomhagen ungdomskole in Larvik ( Norway)TRANSCRIPT
Renewabl e EnergyHydro , Solar and Wind Energy
Wind Energi • Moving air• Collect with windmills or sails.• Stock electrical energy.• Not effective under 13 km/h• Very effective over 22 km/h• Must stand in areas with lots of wind• Denmark and Netherlands are well suited • Also Norway has many good locations for windmills.• Wind farms
Positive sides
• Wind is a renewable resource.• Wind is available everywhere.• Use of wind gives no pollution
Negative sides
• Wind energy is now quite expensive.• Wind strength varies.• Windmills can make noise for people
who live close.
Solar EnergySolar Energy•Comes directly from the sun
•Use solar energy to produce electricity.
•Could supply the houses with electricity
Positive sides Negative sides
• Solar energy is free itsef.
• The supply of solar energy will never og away.
• Gives no pullotion.
• Accessable everywhere.
• Less used for heating.
• Requires such lage surfaces.
• It is expencive.
Hydropower
• Water in motion.
• Where used to grind corn.
• Produce electicity.
• Largest energy source in Norway.
Positve s ides
• Water is a renewable
energy
• No pullotion
• low electricity prices
• expensive to build
• difficult to find the right
location
• destroys the water flows
and ecosystems in the area
Negative s ides
Wave Power
• Only been tested in Norway.
• Through a turbin, and then into a generator.
• Challenges by wave power is:
4. Destroyed machines
5. Skip who sails into them.
Bøkeskogen and Farriskilden
King Haakon’s 7th source
Bøkeskogen
• Bøkeskogen (Beech wood) in Larvik is the first public outdoor recreation area in Norway. The wood is full of beautiful beech trees.
• Larvik is also the home to the world’s northern most natural occurrence of beech trees.
Farriskilden
• Farris is the name of Norway’s oldest produced natural mineral water.
• The water comes from Bøkeskogen and ends up in King Haakons fountain . This take 20 years
Moraine
The geological conditions was made already 10 000 years ago, during the Ice Age. When it rains over Bøkeskogen, the water is filtered and absorbs minerals and trace elements as it moves in the underground channels of King Haakon and King Olav Source. This process takes approx. 15-20 years. The only thing the facory does is to remove the sulfur and add carbonic acid.
Natural mineral waterFarris
• On its way it ”collects” a lot of minerals, so the water is very healthy.
• Farris is one of Norway’s most known tranemarks.
Farris
• large lake of 21.3 km2 •catchment area of 488 km2•22 meters above sea level•Swim•fish in the water•Source of water•hygienically safe•200,000 people•very pure water
