Comment from the Principal 7 th March 2017 Dear Parents and Carers, I do hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend and were able to benefit from the fine weather and many opportunities available during it. The Water It has been good to see our boarders enjoying their early morning surfing sessions, and over 15 students attending swimming training. All of this activity augurs well for the Surf Carnival, and the Great Southern Schools Swimming Carnival in Albany, later in the term. Activities In addition to the surfing and swimming mentioned above a whole range of activities are on offer. Your sons and daughters are aware of these (or should be!) but in summary they are as follows: Activity Day and Time Staff Member i/c Swimming Monday 0700 Mr Castelli, Ms Salomone Choir Monday lunchtime Ms Gregory Bible Study Monday lunchtime Mr Usher English Tutoring Tuesday 1515-1615 Ms Collins & Mrs Walter Science Tutoring Tuesday 1515-1615 Mrs Hall Geography/SOSE Tutoring Tuesday 1515-1615 Mrs Williams Band Wednesday 0730-0830 Mrs Saunders Bible Study Wednesday lunchtime Mr Usher Science Tutoring Wednesday 1515-1615 Mrs Hall Touch Rugby Wednesday 1515-1615 Mr Castelli Netball Wednesday 1515-1615 Mrs Walter Maths Tutoring Wednesday 1515-1615 Mrs Ford Da Vinci Club (Science) Wednesday 1515-1615 Dr Igoe Junior Band Thursday 0730-0830 Mrs Saunders Swimming Thursday 0700 Mr Castelli, Ms Salomone Careers Thursday Recess Ms Marquis Dance Thursday 1205 Mrs Abbott Robotics Thursday 1515-1615 Ms Bottrell Chess Thursday 1515-1615 Mr Clark, Ms Green Basketball Thursday 1515-1615 Mr Clayton Choir Thursday lunchtime Ms Gregory Breakfast Club Nulsen PC Friday 0730 Mrs Shipp Drama Production As announced Ms Taylor

There will be very short presentations from subject teachers at 1530 and you will shortly receive an email from Reception to allow you to make on-line bookings for five-minute meetings with individual subject teachers. These meetings have always proved very useful and provide a good opportunity to see how your child has settled-in to the routines and work of the School. Community Service Just a reminder about our expectations of students in terms of that vital part of our Christian witness – service to our community. The full document is on SEQTA but we would like our students to follow these parameters: Year 7 Year 8 Year 9 Year 10 Year 11-12 1 hour per term

2 hours per term

3 hours per term

4 hours per term

Self-directed (55 hours per 1 unit)

Advisory Group Tutors will assist students in the monitoring of these expectations, which can be met in a multiplicity of ways both in and out of School.

I look forward to another busy and enjoyable week. With warm wishes. Yours sincerely,

Kerr P. Kerr Fulton-Peebles Principal
