 An attentive listener, Andrea can gather information and take notes from spoken andvideo presentations. She has become increasingly confident to speak to others. Sheis most confident in a small group where she readily presents her own ideas aboutthe themes and issues of texts read. Andrea reads and critically responds to a widerange of texts including poetry, film and plays and she is beginning to examine theauthor’s purpose. She is able to justify her opinion of a book by comparing it to other books she has read. Andrea reads the writing of others and makes specificcomments. Her writing is developing and editing needs to become her focus. Andreaneeds to reread her work to make sure it has consistent tense, correct punctuationand varied sentence beginnings.
