LED Exit Signs

Pathway Lighting Products, Inc. offers the widest variety of exit signs available today that utilize state-of-the-art “LED” illumination. The benefits of LED technol-ogy are their energy efficiency, long lamp life, and cool operating temperatures. All LED Exits are standard with dual 120/277 Volt 60 Hz input. Export products are available in 120V 50Hz and 220V 50Hz as well as other voltages to meet your specific application. Long-Life Nickel Cadmium batteries are standard, unless noted otherwise.

Pathway products meet or exceed UL Standards, NEC 700 and NFPA 101 requirements.

Emergency Lighting Equipment

An extensive line of our emergency lighting products feature a solid state, patented charger and sealed maintenance free batteries. The circuitry also features low battery voltage disconnect, brownout protection, and power-on latch feature to protect and prolong the life of the battery. High intensity incandescent lamps and halogen lamps are offered in a wide va-riety of wattages. Standard input voltage is 120/277 Volt 60 Hz. Export voltage of 120V 50Hz and 220V 50Hz, as well as other voltages, is available to meet your specific application.

Architectural and Commercial Lighting

In addition to emergency and exit lighting, we also manufacture architectural down-lighting, pendant lighting and surface cylinders. These product offerings can be found online at www.pathwaylighting.com.

The National Electrical Code limits voltage

drop to a maximum of 5% of nominal. The

table shows the maximum length of a given

battery circuit, assuming that the total load

is concentrated at the end of the load circuit.

If loads are uniformly spaced (equal watts,

equal distances) along the circuit path, all of

these distances may be increased, based on

the number of fixtures on a given circuit. This

may permit a savings by the use of a smaller

wire size or longer wire runs.

For example, a 6 volt circuit with a 27 watt

load, according to the chart on the right, would

require #8 wire for a wire run of 48 ft. (51 ft.

maximum). If, however, the load (3-9 watt

heads) were evenly spaced along the circuit

path, #10 wire could be used. In the chart

under #10 wire, the maximum distance is 32

feet. Using the chart above (for three fixtures)

we can multiply the 32 feet by 1.5 = 48 ft.

To determine the maximum length of a wire

run not listed, divide the value of the load in

watts into the constant listed at the bottom of

each row. (Example: the maximum wire run

for #12 wire on a 12 volt system with a 66

watt load is 2267 ÷ 66 = 34 ft.) Conversely,

to determine the maximum load on a run

of known length, divide the length into the

constant. (Example: a 36 foot run of #12 wire

on a 6 volt system can be loaded to, 567 ÷

36, or 15.75 watts; on a #10 wire, 23 watts).

Note: The smallest permissible wire size

for systems under 50 volts is #12 for emer-

gency lighting equipment under Article 720-4

of the National Electrical Code.
