We invite you to pray that the Lord will prepare us for battle as a church but also to personally awaken our
consciousness to the role we must play in the upcoming Big City which from now on will be referred to as
"Metro Mission 14" or " MM14" campaign.

(3) Day of Kindness/ Week of Generosity October 12 - 18, 2013
October 12, 2013 has been designated "Day of Kindness" in our Church. It is a day when the church should makean extra effort to show kindness especially to those who are less fortunate in our community.
In preparation for Metro Mission 2014, each church Pastoral District / Cluster is being encouraged to identify ahumanitarian community project and fill that need during the week of generosity, October 12 - 18. It is beingproposed that groups in the church, (Sabbath School classes, AYS bands, Pathfinder clubs, Community ServicesTeams etc) help somebody in the name of the greatest philanthropist the world has ever seen - Jesus Christ, ourLord and Saviour.
Like in previous years, churches are invited to report these projects to the Community Services Department ofthe East Jamaica Conference before the events take place.
(4) New LEA Executive Headed by Elder Noel Morgan
A new Lay Evangelistic Association Executive headed by Elder Noel Morgan waselected by delegates taken from churches across zones 1 - 3 at the Big City Summitmeeting held recently at the Hagley Park SDA Church on September 21, 2013. ElderMorgan was re-elected head of the association affirming his leadership of theassociation over the past two years.
Below is the list of persons that constitute the executive of the association. The teamfalls under the leadership of the Personal Ministry, Sabbath School and CommunityServices Department of the Conference which is headed by Director Pastor CarlCunningham and Associate Director Sis. Kathleen Dunkley.

(5) Next General Elders' Association Meeting set ForOctober 27, 2013
The East Jamaica Conference Elders' Association (Kingston Chapter) invites all Elders, Church Leaders &Pastors to the next scheduled general meeting where special guest presenter, Dr. Gosnell York, Director - E.G.White Resource Center, NCU will address the body on the topic :' The Role of Ellen White in the SDAChurch'.
This promises to be a very interesting informative session. Please make every effort to be there.
(6) NCU Alumni Association, East Jamaica Chapter General Meeting - October 22-2013.
Alumni of Northern Caribbean University are invited to a special meeting of shared vision as we focus on thetheme: "Journeying together: charting a glorious future"

(7) Notices from the Youth Ministries Department
BIBLE BOOM:The Youth Ministries Department wishes to congratulate the finalists in the just concluded Bible BoomProgramme which ended on Sabbath October 5, 2013. Special commendation to Ogarth Bryan from the ArnoldRoad SDA Church (Zone 1) who emerged as the winner.
The grand Conference Final for the first time was held in St. Thomas, at the Woodbourne Church and saw a largegathering of eager supporters in attendance from across the length and breadth of E.J.Cs constituency.
Testimonials were given from the finalists as well as last years winner, Jannel Davidson about the mighty.
Along with trophies for the winner and runner up- Timeisha Williams, each participant in this years programmereceived a certificate of participation as well as a Bible for each finalist. The winner also copped the grand prize
of a 7 tablet.
The department uses this opportunity to encourage all our youth to get ready for Bible Boom 2014 which will bebigger and better. The books to be studied are from Hosea to Micah.
Join us this Sabbath October 12, 2013 as we journey to Maranatha SDA in Mandeville for the JAMU Bible BoomFinals where we hope to come away champions.
1. Adventure &Pathfinder Exams: The annual exams will be held on October 27, 2013 commencing at
8:00am.

2. Youth in Leadership Month:November has been designated as Youth Month, where the church isencouraged to allow the youth to take charge of the various church programmes, elect a mock churchboard and officers to function for the month. Its a means of training our youth to effectively function asleaders within our churches.
3. Zone Four (4) Youth Federation Day: Join the Zone 4 Youth Federation on November 9, 2013 at the
Seaforth SDA for its Grand Federation Day. Pastor Michael Henry- JAMUs Youth Director is slated tobe guest speaker for this special occasion.
4. Pathfinder Festival: The annual Pathfinder Festival will be held on the grounds of the Kencot SDA, 10-12Osbourne Rd, Kingston 10 on November 24, 2013 commencing at 9 am. All zones should be in highgear.
5. Youth Congressoree & Awards Banquet-December 20-22. Start planning for this NOT TO BE MISSEDevent. Guest speaker will be Pastor Keith Morris out of the USA. Plan to be there.

(8) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Community Services Department
1. Sabbath School superintendents and Personal Ministries leaders are reminded of the end of quarter report
which is due on the 10th of October 2013. Congratulations to Content Gap for being the first church tosend their third Quarter report on time.
2. Week of Generosity/Day of Kindness October 12-17, 2013. All churches are encouraged to send a
report of your project (in your cluster) to the Personal Ministries Department.
3. Thanks to our churches for accommodating the launch of Harvest Ingathering. We use this opportunity
to encourage all treasurers to do a weekly remittance to the Conference.
4. There will be a special seminar for all Community Services volunteer on October 20 at 9 a.m in the EJC
boardroom; this will help persons prepare for investiture on November 16, 2013 at the Festival of the
Laity.
5. Monthly Community Services Leaders meeting continue on Sunday, October 27 at 10 a.m in the EJC
Chapel.
6. The long awaited Senior Citizens month celebration is here: The Senior Citizens Convention will be
held on Sabbath, November 23 at the Constant Spring SDA Church, 9 a.m and the Banquet being will be
held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 starting at 3 p.m other members are also invited cost $1000.
Belated birthday greetings to our seniors, born January to September & happy birthday to our October
celebrants; wishing you good health and long life.
7. EJC School of Evangelism (EJC SOE) general class meeting - October 20, 2013 in the EJC boardroom -PLEASE TAKE YOUR REFRESHMENT.

2. Counting Down! WMDs, do all you can to have at least one GEM representing your church at the 4 dayseminarOctober 24 -27, 2013. Call immediately and book their place. Adults/Mentors come for yourRest & Relaxation. Bring your friends and coworkers.
3. In preparation for Big City Evangelism we are expected to assist in mobilizing the women to make visitsin our community ahead of this campaign. The Lord is calling on us to do our part.

by rules. When laws are violated, pleaseteach us how to face the consequences.Remember, we love you.

2. Zone Presidents are asked to complete their Bible Spell-a-thon competition by October 13.
3. EJC Bible Spell-a-thon finals will be held on November 9, 2013 Kingsway School.

5. All CMDs whose children are engaged in the Child Preachers Training currently are asked to send thenames of the children to the office immediately as well as their assignments. We need to preparecertificates for them.

Note also that we ask you to end with Adventist Childrens Sabbath.Childrens Sabbath is a day set aside by churches all over the world for the purpose of spotlighting andaffirming the children in our midst. It also draws attention to the need of children at risk in the world.Traditionally the North American Division celebrates this special day the first Sabbath in October. Thisyear we ask you to end week of prayer with Childrens Sabbath; however if this date is not available toyou, we encourage you to have a childrens Sabbath whenever you can. This day provides a great
excuse to invite neighbours, friends, and inactive members to bring their children. The more you putinto planning and promoting this special day, the more impact it will have on your church and yourcommunity.

Christian Greetings.
Festival of the Laity 2013, under the theme Ignited by His Power will be staged at the Golden Acres Resort
November 13 to 15, with the Grand Finale at the Hagley Park SDA Church on November 16, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All
members are invited to the entire program. We are also encouraged to bring our community friends to all of our
nightly meetings and Sabbath program.
Festival of the Laity is a time of celebration and thanksgiving; glorifying God for His bountiful blessings and paying tribute
to many of the faithful, committed and hardworking members who have contributed to the advance of Gods cause
during this quadrennium. It is also an occasion that fosters great Christian fellowship and facilitates further training and
equipping for Christian service and witnessing. This Festival is strategically poised because this is the Year of the Laity
and prelude to METRO MISSION 2014.
We embrace this opportunity to thank those of you who have gone the extra mile for God, in service to your fellow men
in the Church and in the community.
Each Church is being invited to send at least three (3) delegates from among all ministries, including the following:
