COMMUNICATION Most Dads want their kids to be better listeners. However, many of us aren’t modeling that very well. What we sow (talking only, not listening), is often what we reap. Is it possible that the lack of communication in your home is because you ask boring questions? Ask Yourself Strategy #1 Listen Openly “Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.” Proverbs 18:2 (NIV) Scripture Verse Do you spend your time telling your kids what to do? Do you know their passions, ideas, and frustrations? Can you listen well? Ask Yourself Strategy #2 Affirm Character “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 (NIV) Scripture Verse When is the last time you “called out” the great ways God has wired your son or daughter?
