    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

    TOPIC: COMMUNICATION THROUGH MUSIC

According to Corke M, Music can impact on mind, body and spirit. Communication

through music is an approach which has been devised to develop fundamental

communication and social interaction skills. This approach combines many components

including visual, tactile and essentially person centered approaches with music.Music

has powerful role in society because it can induce multiple responses physiological,

movement, mood, emotional, cognitive and behavioral . It is powerful at the level of the

social group because it facilitates communication which goes beyond words, enables

meanings to be shared, and promotes the development and maintenance of individual,

group, cultural and national identities. Though there are many different kinds of music, it

is only one and the same. Music is used as a powerful tool for communication for

    thousand of years.

People can use music in their lives to manipulate their moods, alleviate the boredom of

tedious tasks, and create environments appropriate for particular social events.

Music is used as second language for communication by humans and animals .

Birds can "talk" with one another in sophisticated ways even though they do not have

the kind of tongue or teeth we need to form words. They make different types of sounds

for communication in different situations. today, music is one of the few ways in which

people can connect with each other without language, it is one way in which cultures

can not only identify themselves but also communicate with each other and find

    common ground.

there is always a meaning behind the sounds. Sometimes that meaning is quite basic,

at other times, the meaning can be very complex and strongly connected to the beliefs

    and practices of that culture.
