A non-profit, patient-centered, breast imaging center of excellence, the Carol Milgard Breast Center’s mission is to provide sustainable breast health services to all women in the community in a caring environment that fosters confidence, comfort, peace and dignity for each individual. We serve all patients—including those who are medically underserved, regardless of their ability to pay for services. We take great pride in serving our community as a health care provider, employer and community partner.

The breast center boasts seven radiologists/physicians who specialize in mammography and breast imaging and 45 experienced and dedicated clinical and administrative employees. We have a collaborative community model of ownership and management with two owners—Franciscan Health System and MultiCare Health System—and managing partner TRA Medical Imaging. The unique, collaborative partnership received a founding gift from the Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation and is named in honor of Carol Milgard, a long-time Tacoma resident, philanthropist and 30-year breast cancer survivor.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT HIgHlIgHTS We recognize our responsibilities to the people in the region and are proud of our contributions and benefits to the community. Our primary goals are to support our mission, provide screening and diagnostic imaging services to potentially save lives, improve the quality of lives for patients and their families, and to build a healthier community. This report contains highlights of some of the ways we supported those goals.
