Versioning questions

We had two teams working in parallel Beat on CB 2.0 roadmap

(new CB Library, XML engine, upgraded API, etc.)

Kyle on CB 1.10 roadmap (new core features, new fe/be styling, lots of new features)

As both efforts showed substantial progress the two streams have been merged, so we are releasing CB 2.0 directly

Important things about CB 2.0 and b1 Community Builder 2.0

Installs and works on Joomla 2.5.x and Joomla 3.x It will not work on Joomla 1.0 or Joomla 1.5 (or

Mambo) Installs over CB 1.9 and CB 1.9.1 upgrading your

environment New CB 2.0 compatible Joomlapolis add-ons are in

progress (should be ready when CB 2.0 stable is released)

Language plugin strategy has not changed (deferred for CB 2.1)

Community Builder 2.0 beta Is not for live sites! – install only on testing

environments!

Release roadmap (tentative)

Community Builder 2.0 beta 1 released today to Developer members

Depending on issues found we anticipate 2-3 additional beta releases

After beta testing Release Candidate build will be released to Professional members

Depending on RC feedback and coverage we will release second RC or go directly to stable release (anticipated in January 2014)
