MRVED Aquatics Curriculum being used to teach swim lessons The surrounding MRVED districts approved a new Swim Curriculum that incorporates skills from Red Cross, YMCA’s and other known swim curriculums. This curriculum was developed by a very knowledgeable instructor who has 20+ years of experience as a director and instructor in aquatics. The lessons will be two weeks long to give the children the proper amount of time to master the skills required. Instructors and Lifeguards are still Red Cross Certified. All lessons at the High School Indoor Pool! The program is designed to give students a positive learning experience as they progress through all six levels. Students must have successfully demonstrated all the skills in a level before moving to the next level in the progression.

Note To Parents: *no spectators, please, as it distracts the participants. You may, however, watch on the last day.* Throughout all swim lesson levels, students are taught aquatic and boating safety and rescue skills. Each child learns/progresses differently, so it may take some children multiple sessions to progress to the next level, especially in Angel, Barracuda, and Clown . In order to do the basic strokes, it often has to be done in the deep end where the child can’t “cheat” and touch the bottom of the pool. *Goggles are not provided, you may bring your own if you want to use them.
