BUSINESS CLIMATE SURVEY 2016/17– ENGAGEMENT
160 Swedish companies in India (91%)
shared their perception of doing busi-
ness in India in the 9th Business Climate
Survey recently completed.
Over the years the BCS has become an
important tool for bi-lateral engage-
ments, discussions with state govern-
ments and to promote India as a desti-
nation for Swedish businesses.
Ease of doing business is a key area for
the Chamber. The BCS tells us more about key challenges faced by
companies.
Last year we worked more in depth with the central govt. and spe-
cifically the Maharashtra state govt. on labor and tax regulations.
The BCS also tells us about companies long-term commitment to
India and to pursue a holistic sustainability agenda.
We are now building further on this and we will do it in partnership
with India.
Join us for our series of Executive Roundtables on BUSINESS CLIMATE
SURVEY– WAY FORWARD in BANGALORE (FEB 21), PUNE (FEB 28) and
DELHI (MAR 1) to discuss this further.
The Agenda will thereafter be discussed with key agencies of the
Indian government, leading up to the Joint Commission meeting
between our two Ministers of Trade & Commerce on May 17 in Delhi.
This will be followed by strategic discussions with state governments.
