About St Johns Primary School (extract from School Handbook) Our School Vision, Values and Aims VISION
Our school is a Catholic school: a place where we make friends, learn new things, play sport, work hard and have fun. VALUES
RESPECT
Be honest
Be responsible
Be polite
Be fair
Be the best that you can be AIMS
We believe everyone should feel safe, happy and be treated with respect.
We hope to grow into nice people who will always help others.
We will work together so that we can be independent, successful learners ready for university or prepared for a job when we are older/in the future.
We make connections and build strong links with industry, employers and our local and wider community. We hold an annual World of Work week
where we invite a range of guest speakers into our school to inspire and motivate our pupils. Classes take up opportunities to share ideas and resources
via glow, the national education intranet.
What is the Mitie Foundation?

Policy to consider.
Our policy: (1
st DRAFT proposed)
We recognise our commitment towards the environment and therefore aim to:
Continue to measure our most significant environmental/carbon impacts, aspire to exceed year on year carbon targets and monitor progress in line with the Carbon Reduction Commitments using formal auditing procedure where appropriate.
Ensure that our pupils and employees have an awareness of carbon and environmental issues, and that those with particular environmental responsibilities are provided with appropriate training and support;
Integrate environmental consideration into our procurement of goods and services; Address the direct and indirect environmental impacts of our operations; Regularly review this policy and make it available online.
Our objectives are to: Use energy and water efficiently and optimise our use of natural resources; Minimise the volume of waste deposited to landfill by reducing in the first instant, re-using and recycling materials wherever possible, or by identifying the best practicable environmental options for
disposal; Ensuring that our pupils and employees are aware of relevant environmental issues, and of their own roles and responsibilities in delivering the overall programme, providing training for those with
particular responsibilities; Ensure that our key suppliers and contractors are aware of our policy, and that wherever possible, they operate to similar standard, as a minimum; Continue to provide support for sustainability initiatives that contribute towards the preservation or enhancement of the quality of life in the communities in which we operate; Collate and publish relevant information about our environmental performance on an annual basis via websites.
