My Background Having had the privilege of studying in esteemed institutes

such as Campion and BD Somani International School, I have been able to greatly develop my interests and I have developed a great passion for Computers.

Computers have always fascinated me and over the past few years I’ve been able to effectively pursue my passion and share it with others.

rapidly and knowledge of computers will soon be of great importance and will be integral in improving job prospects for people.

Nowadays, most of the tasks performed are performed electronically and to be able to perform such tasks, a knowledge of computers is essential.

Computers Awareness Programme for Underprivileged Children Along with the help of the esteemed Non-Governmental

Organisation, the Dharma Bharathi Mission, I pioneered a computer awareness programme for underprivileged children.

I initiated this project in the summer of 2014, before beginning the 11th grade and this project is still ongoing.

Computers Awareness Programme for Underprivileged Children I teach children studying at Colaba Municipal School,

Over the past one year, I have taught the children skills such as creating paintings, using notepad, using Microsoft Office for basic everyday activites, etc.

Introduction to Vidya Vidya’s mission is educating and empowering the less

privileged through integrated methods and initiating and implementing progressive social change.

Vidya believes in an integrated approach to empowerment and education and they help communities by helping their most vulnerable members– their youth, women and children– and designing programs in a way that empowering one empowers the other.

Women Empowerment Programme In collaboration with Vidya, to address our mutual goal of

women empowerment, I launched a Women Empowerment Computers programme.

I initiated this programme in the month of July, 2015 and this programme is currently ongoing.

Women Empowerment Programme Every Saturday afternoon, I teach women who work as

domestic helpers basic computer functions such as surfing the internet, using emails, creating documents and artwork.

I believe that educating these women about computers will improve their job prospects and help them become independent and support themselves.

Future Plans for these Projects To ensure the continuity of these programmes, I have co-

opted a couple of juniors into these programmes who will take it further.

I have two juniors who work with me on the Computer Awareness Programme for the Underprivileged Children and I know that these two juniors will do a good job and carry this programme forward.

Similarly, there are two juniors working with me on the Women Empowerment Programme and they are extremely capable and will be able to take this programme forward.
