understanding of the important
work we carry out in
partnership to advance the
common good in our
communities.
Enrollment
•Enrollment letter sent

•Fill-in your information and you will receive approval confirmation
•After approval you will start receiving personalized speaking requests •Welcome to Community Voices 2009!
Expectations
• Frequency of participation
• Volume of requests

Request Process
• Speakers will get emails from [email protected] informing them of eligible speaking opportunities
– Individual solicitations
– Group solicitations
• If you are available click the link to accept the engagement
• The first speaker who is available and clicks the link will be the speaker for the event.
• You will get a confirmation email with the event details and United Way contact
• You will hear from United Way contact prior to event
• You will receive a survey after the event for feedback

• Introduction and brief description of agency’s overall work
• Slightly more extended description of agency’s work in designated impact area
• Success story about of an individual or family who used your services
• How does United Way help you accomplish your goals?
• Duration: between 5 and 10 minutes
Effective Oral Presentations guidelines• Select your topic
• Select your purpose: inform, educate, entertain, inspire, convince
• Consider what are the expectations of your audience
Organize your presentation: • Opening capture audience’s attention and lead into topic
• Body state facts and present supporting material
• Conclusion summarize your facts and supporting material
• Call for action ask your audience to give, advocate and/or volunteer
