1.Company Information1.1) HistoryGeneral Motors Company commonly known as GM is an American Multinational corporation

founded on September 16, 1908, inFlint, Michigan, as aholding company forBuick, then

controlled by William C. Durant. The Headquarter of the company is located in Detroit,

Michigan while it runs its business in 157 countries and provide employment to 2, 12,000 people

around the Globe.

General Motors produces vehicles in 37 countries under various brands including Chevrolet,

Buick, GMC and Cadillac. It also has a number of joint-ventures, including Shanghai

GM, SAIC-GM-Wuling and FAW-GM in China, GM-AvtoVAZ in Russia, Ghandhara

Industries in Pakistan, GM Uzbekistan, General Motors India, General Motors Egypt, and Isuzu

Truck South Africa.

1908 GM's Begining

1916

Incorporated as General Motors Corp that founded brands like Chevrolets

1920 William C. Durant Resigns

1921 GM accounts for 12 percent of U.S. car market.

1923

Alfred P. Sloan named president and chief executive

1925 GM acquires Vauxhall Motors of Great Britain.

1929 GM acquires Adam Opel AGof Germany.

1941 GM market share grows to 41 percent
