From school yards to community gardens, ‘Green for Life’ outreach crosses the province!
Milton, Ontario, March 2009 ( A school yard in disrepair, a cancer garden, a little girls wish. Sharing a passion for the outdoors is what members of Landscape Ontario do best, and sharing is the key word. Last year our regional chapters donated time, money, plants and tons of passion to help their local communities.
“Our green industry has passion for what we do, you see it not only in the final landscapes but in the people who grow, design and install landscape plants. Look at the great volunteer work from the regional chapters.” quotes Tony DiGiovanni, Executive Director of Landscape Ontario. “Many members have been doing this type of community outreach for decades.”
In Hamilton members helped rebuild a school garden, in Barrie the charity Gilda’s House had a home completely re-landscaped to benefit those touched by cancer. From Windsor to Ottawa to downtown Toronto members of Landscape Ontario reach out to their local communities.
Our members take great joy in not only beautifying the world, but in helping people spend more time enjoying being outdoors. In the past few years we have seen an increase in outdoor living spaces include kitchens, dining areas, seating areas and places to rest and play. ‘Green for Life’ is our commitment to help you better enjoy your time outdoors.
A major component of the ‘Green for Life’ program is the newly redesigned website – www.landscapeontario.com. Click through thousands of beautiful photos showing landscape, water features, outdoor lighting and amazing inspirational ideas.
