Hidden BeautyThe hidden beauty of kaolin or china clay was alreadyappreciated from as early as 1st century AD.

After its discovery in the mountainous province ofKiangsi, in AD500, it was flrst used by the Chinese tomake high quality porcelain. Hence the name'Kaolin'wasderived from 'Kao Lin', meaning 'High Ridge' in Chinese .

A natural mineral found in partly decomposed granite,processed or refined kaolin is available in either the formof white powder or granules, and has a natural whitenessand fineness. ln addition to its non-abrasive property andchemical stability, it is a versatile product with a widerange of applications.

From Earth toGood Use

Before kaolin can be put to good use, it has togo through several production processes.

First, raw kaolin has to be extracted andprocessed using the wet production methodwhich involves dissolving, segregation,filtering, de-watering and drying operations.

Clay is extracted by excavators.

Trucks then transport this clay to the processing plant.

At the plant, this mixture of clay and water, commonly referred to as slurry, is passed through a series of filtering andde-watering tanks.

During this process, the fine sand and mica are extracted from the clay particles through suspension in water. The clayis meanwhile subjected to a number of complex chemical treatments to produce the different grades of the final product.

Treated slurry is next passed through the filter press where most of the water is removed from the clay, resulting inslabs of pressed kaolin cake.

Finally, the slabs of pressed kaolin cake are cut in smaller pieces and placed in drying sheds for natural drying, orundergo dryer for low moisture product.

The company is geared to meet increasing overseas demand withhigher production capacity and bigger pool of human resources andexpertise. Both overseas and local customers can be assured of fastand efficient shipment and timely delivery of the product.

The major purchases of our products are ASEAN nations, Thailand,Singapore, lndonesia, Philippines, lndia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Japan,Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia, Pakistan, Middle East, Europe, SouthAfrica and the United States of America.
