STRUCTUREThe Bonzano brand brings together the skills, passion and industrial culture of three companies (IBL SpA, I-Pan SpA and Derula Kft) which, over the years, have firmly made their mark in international wood panel production.
Our organisational structure allows for optimum manufacturing flexibility, in turn improving service quality. We offer greater strategy diversification and the product positioning to promptly meet all market demands.
PLANTATIONSThe cost control of raw materials is an important part of the Bonzano industrial strategy. Not being dependent on market dynamics for the procurement of raw materials means we can guide our growth and development over time in a calm and measured way. But not just that. It also means greater price stability, better quality, traceability of materials and, above all, unwavering respect for plantation growth cycles, and complete raw material renewability.

Lightweight: poplar has a lower specific weight (380 kg/m3) than spruce (450 kg/m3), birch (650
kg/m3) and most wood used for producing panels.
Light, uniform colour: poplar, unlike other woods, can be used to create large, light coloured and homogenous
veneers.
Easy to work: poplar is a soft wood. This feature makes it easy to work and reduces tool wear.
THE ITALIAN POPLARThe quality properties of the I-214 clone make it the most popular variety worldwide for the production of panels. It was created in Casale Monferrato, Italy, at the Research Centre for Forestry and Wood, just a few miles from the Bonzano factory.
It takes just ten years for the I-214 poplar to reach a weight of 6.5-7.5 tonnes: more than double the growth rate of other trees, including the spruce.
ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS• Poplar plantations require less use of
fertilisers than other crops and so they do not impoverish the biological quality of the soil or pollute the groundwater.
• Poplar trees can distil the water which they absorb from the ground and restore it into the atmosphere through transpiration.
• The poplar combats the greenhouse effect and global climate changes. A standard ten-year old poplar plantation can absorb between 4.9 and 5.5 tonnes of carbon per hectare (approx. 2.5 acres) every year and restore the same amount of oxygen.
