About us

SMART was set up in 1992 with the establishment of Smart Car Rental Pte Ltd,

to supply car rental needs for Multi National Companies, Local Companies,

tourists and local Singaporeans, as well as government agencies and embassies

of foreign countries. Over the years, Smart has been expanded its business

beyond Car Rental to Compressed Natural Gas and Diesel retail business,

Automobile Repair Workshop, Property Development and Supermarket Retail.

The businesses are operating across different countries including Singapore,

Malaysia and Indonesia.

Our Core Businesses 核心业务

Smart Group of Companies is involved in multiple industries from Retail,

Services, Manufacturing and Development.

In the Car Rental Business, Smart Car Rental has been operating for 25

years. We rent out a wide range of cars to suit different needs, from budget-friendly

cars to luxurious cars, self-drive or chauffeur driven. The company also provides

Coaches or Buses for various events.

In the Energy business, Smart Energy prides itself in partnering with the

Singapore Government to pioneer the first mother-daughter CNG stations in

Singapore. In line with its vision to provide Singapore’s automotive industry a proven

alternative and eco-friendly fuel, Smart Energy subsequently set up the combination of

Transport/Industrial CNG and Euro 5- Compliant Diesel. Our products serve local

motorists, taxis, buses as well as industrial use for Manufacturing, Construction, as

well as Shipyards and Aerospace plants. This is in line with Singapore authorities’ plan

to improve air quality by enforcing stringent emissions standards, promoting energy

conservation, and investing in cleaner sources of fuel in order to reduce greenhouse

gas emissions.

In Malaysia, we partner with Shell Eastern Petroleum to operate Fuel stations. Our

stations provide one-stop services from refueling, restaurant, supermarket, car wash,

car workshop and ATM to serve our customers.

Looking forward, Smart Energy plans to expand even further and to develop its

assets by:

i) Providing additional refueling dispensers for clean fuel such as hydrogen, biodiesel

and electric charging points for Electric Vehicles, including mobile fuel dispensers.

ii) Incorporating renewable energy such as solar power to supplement grid power

supply for charging of Evs

In Auto Care Business, our company Starts Auto Engineering has been in

the business since 2007 providing vehicle accident repair and vehicle servicing. We

take in all types of passenger cars for regular servicing like changing engine oil or

major repairs, car polish and car wash. Like most developed countries, Singapore is not

spared from manpower shortage, hence Starts Auto Engineering began to seek fully

automated machinery to expand their business.

In the Real Estate Business, SMART Realty invested in land to build Shop

lots, Condominium, Hotel and Industrial Park. We are very selective in buying land

banks such as choosing the Partners and good location. Our Land suppliers are well

known property developers such as JTC Singapore, Sembawang Corporation

Singapore, United Malayan Land Malaysia, Eco World Development Malaysia , PT

Jababeka Tbk. These are all leading Asian developers with a strong track record in

transforming raw land into sustainable urban developments, and delivering the

economic engine for growth.

In the Retail Business, S-Mart was established in 2016 to serve our motorist

customers as a one stop for their daily needs for their ultimate convenience. The new

convenience store replaces the existing C-Store and became the largest of its kind in

Singapore refueling stations.

Our convenience store size is about 5,000 square feet, which is remarkable in a land-

scarce country like Singapore. Within this spacious area, we aim to provide a

comfortable and pleasant shopping experience. We serve groceries and products, hot

and cold drinks, toiletries and even cooked food. We have also, invested more than

S$1,000,000 to fully automate our payment gateway, and even a fully automated

cooked food vending machine.
