My video in comparison to the original Production: Amy Lee

Amy Lee is seen as in inspiration person who is mulit-talented in many aspects. Such as, she is a phenomenal Pianist, unique style of singing, and a rare beauty who many fans (predominately female) aspire to be like.

In decided to make the main singer in my project to portray a definite representation of Amy Lee, so I don’t subvert away from their unique performance style. I wanted the audience to have a preferred opinion which would go along the lines of “Yes, I really believe this woman in the music video, she is just like Amy Lee.”

I wanted to make my lead singer, a portrayal of Amy Lee to be as realistic as possible, to attract the audiences that Amy does, generally a Gothic Social group. Therefore, I tried to manipulate aspects of the original Media Text, into the remake. I decided to have the same stances for my Actress, such as singing fully into the microphone (Stereotypical of any music genre) playing the piano (Shows raw talent for the music, no false effects) and playing the bass guitar. All of these aspects makes my character musically respectable. She is well known as an independent female artists.

Another aspect that I needed to focus on, was creating the Mediated version of what we call “Beauty”. Which consists of various factors, such as a fresh, pale complexion, perfect makeup, perfect hair. Overall a beauty. In addition, I tried to make my actress flawless and beautiful, just like Amy Lee, so I wouldn’t subvert away from their conventions.
