Compare teen culture of today to

that of previous decade.

How was society back when you were my age?

Then

• Price of gas was a lot cheaper.

• People had jobs.

• Food was cheaper.

• Hardly any computers and no cell phones.

• The Economy was a lot better.

Now

• Gas prices are SO much higher in todays generation.

• Now a days a lot of people are getting laid off and having hard times finding a job.

• Going out to eat or even buying groceries is so expensive.

• The economy is doing very poorly now.

How were school dances back then?

Then

• Different music.

• Girls didn't’t get their hair, nails or make up done.

• No dirty dancing.

• Girls dresses were longer.

• Guys didn't’t really ask girls in “cute” or a special way.

• School wasn't’t as decretive.

Now

• Our music at school dances have more vulgar language.

• Techno.

• Rap.

• Girls NEED/ WANT to get their hair , make up and nails done to feel more “beautiful”.

• Dresses now are very short and some maybe reveling too much, very bright colors, very expensive.

How were clothing, hair back then?

Then• Great! • Very comfortable. • Bright colors.• Bell bottoms.• Convers gym shoes.• Clogs.• Curly long poufy hair.• The bigger the better.• Perms.• Guys had mullets (business in the

front party in the back!)• Baggy. • A lot of band t-shirts.

Now• Different.• More showy showy.• All different funky designs.• Bright colors (as well).• We have two different type of clothes bumming

when you go to school and cute clothes when you go out.

• Hair is all different type of colors and style.• Guys wear pants down to where you can see

their butts.• Guys hair is short or now some hockey players

have “the flow”. • Guys wear shirts that are colorful.• Guys wear v neck type of shirts.• Girls have all different type of hair styles do do

like curling, straight hair, crimped hair, natural hair etc.

• There is more diversity in what clothes people wear.

• You see white kids wear “ghetto” type of clothes.

How were the school football games?

Then Not a lot of kids went. Not a lot of school

spirit. Less crowds If people went they

were smoking. Not paying attention

to the game.

Now Mostly EVERYONE goes. A lot of school spirit. Super fans. Stands are filled with

students/parents and even people who come to just watch the games.

People get into the games. A lot going on at the games

like the band playing the cheerleaders cheer and the poms dancing.

How was home life back then?

Then Parents were

stricter. Home cooked

meals every night. Dads worked

moms stayed home.

Now Parents are more laid

back. A lot of kids have to

depend on themselves to make their own meals.

Both mom and dads work.

Kids are most likely fee to do whatever they want.

How were the schools?

Then Schools weren't as

hard. No computers. No groups. Not as strict. Kids kept to

themselves.

Now School is very important now. A lot of new technology. You see a lot of different types

of groups now in schools. Cracking down on being strict

and punishments. A lot of kids are being free

minded. More fights. All different type of clothing

being worn.

How was technology?

Then Had very little. Type writers as

computers. No cellphones. No text messaging. Wrote letters as their

text messaging.

Now A whole lot of new

technology. High Definition

computers, TV and phones.

IPhones. Androids. Printers. Blue raid DVD.

Slang Then Cool Totally Dude

Now Oh My God Ratchet Like Rawnchy

Overall Over the past 30 years you see that things have changed a whole lot or some things have sort of stayed the same. No matter what generation we are in there is always so way the old stuff will come back.
