that the information on the inside will be more entertaining than informative. This magazine

also features one very famous young celebrity figure on the front making it more for the

younger audience.

Comparison• Here I have looked at 2 completely different magazines to see what is common and what is different

between them, I have chosen the regional magazine Cumbria Life and the national magazine Teen Vogue. These magazines are extremely different, however, they both have strong front covers for the type of magazine. Both of the front covers contain a lot of the common magazine conventions. Both magazines have a strong masthead, this is the main title, that is representative of their magazine. This runs throughout the whole magazine and is a continuous feature that links each page and each article. The both also contain sub headings, dates, barcodes and a main image. The main image is a huge part of a magazine as this is what draws the audiences eye in, the regional magazine Cumbria life magazine features a beautiful tranquil setting, this represents Cumbria as it is well known for the countryside that makes up the Lake District. Whereas the national magazine features an image of a well known celebrity that is very popular at this time and that was in the public eye at the time the magazine was released making people want to read the magazine to know about his life.

• Another thing you learn from the front covers of these magazines are the target audience they are aimed at. The regional magazine is aimed at an older target audience, this will consist of walkers, gardeners, farmers as well as people visiting the area. Cumbria life includes local events, historical events and stories, places to walk and maps.

• Whereas Teen Vogue is aimed at the young target audience predominately females, the magazine includes fashion advice, make up tips, DIY ideas, as well as adverts for clothes, shoes, jewellery and perfume.

• Therefore, although there is a large difference between the kinds of colour schemes, the content and the language used inside the magazine both magazine use similar layouts and follow the same structure.
