Complete Katakana Chart
Learn and Understand Hiragana before proceeding with Katakana. Note : Refer Hiragana chart for all 3 notes. Explanation in this chart is intentionally left blank so that Hiragana chart is referred again.
Note : he「へ」, be 「べ」 and pe「ぺ」 are similar in Hiragana and Katakana
Note : shi「シ」 and tsu「ツ」 may look similar for beginners. Check again and remember the directions of the stroke. Similarly Note: so「ソ」 and n「ン」 may look similar for beginners. Check again and remember the directions of the stroke.
Note : All these letters are used in combination with other letters. Except ヴ, all others are smaller form of ア、イ、エ、オ、ユ. Smaller forms can be represented by typing combo word [for example: Katakana for "File" can be typed by "fairu"(ファイル)] or by pressing x before typing respective letter [for example: Katakana for "Duty" can be typed as デューティ. Let us split letter by letter デュcan be typed by "de followed by x and yu". If you note there is a ー which is used to give a prolonged sound; This is common in Hiragana and Katakana. Finally ティ can be typed by "thi" or "te followed by x and i"]
